this cartoon sums up exactly the reason why I have my profile avatar. Being Middle-Eastern (atheist) myself. I can unfortunately say that alot of Muslims do not care to deal with the issue of terrorism; they'd rather sweep it under the rug and pretend it doesn't exist anymore.

The major reason for the rise and prominence of terrorism has nothing to do with the common SJW argument of colonialism, etc. the reason is because of the cultural dominance that Western countries have. These terror groups believe that the only way to regain cultural dominance and have Islam regain its former glory is through doubling down on religion and religious beliefs. This is one of the reasons why Salafism exists.

I don't disagree with most of what you're saying. But i do think that the reason why western culture is so dominating is because of colonialism. I mean, i find it hard to belief that the two wouldn't be related at least on some level.
