Actually, yes, you more or less hit the nail there: that IS just you, in fact.

Here is the thing: those comments on the background are not edits or photoshops. They are real. Do any of them look like "critique" to you..? Do any of those people look like they care about gameplay over style..? Or like they even played a Xenoblade game, to begin with..?

And that is really all the gist of it: both of these images are addressing THOSE people, not anyone else, and this should be obvious. It is for the people at the Twitter source, at least.

If you personally do not fit into this category, then good for you, all the better. But do not pretend that literally everyone disliking Pyra's design is doing so out of respectful constructive criticism.

"I DON'T LIKE THIS DESIGN, CHANGE IT OR I'LL NOT BUY YOUR GAME! SHE DESERVES BETTER!" is not a critique, that is a demand based on a subjective claim.

"I personally don't like this design" is a critique, and not many are saying that for this one.

Art is meant to be respected regardless of your personal stance on it.
