The hyperspace ramming was stupid because it completely invalidates the need to build ships for combat. Have a big huge super battleship? Just build a cheap shell of a much smaller ship and ram it it into the super battleship. You'll win that attrition game since you're spending far fewer resources to kill something much bigger.

The hyperspace ramming thing is one of the things people that write scifi don't put in is that while it's mathematically correct it also invalidates a lot of the entire genre. It's like putting a flint gun in a medieval combat game; they had stuff like that as early as the 1300's and cause guns are so effective at combat that's why we don't use swords anymore.

You could destroy the death star via hyperspace ramming.
