Asset flips and people taking exceptionaly large shite on your most valued property is ok.
But series of pictures and dialogue prompts, most of which don't even include pornographic content is a big no no.

You're both fucking idiots. No one plays a visual novel for the same reason they would play a Mega Man game, in the same way that you wouldn't play Persona 5 for the same reason that you would play a Mario game. It's just a different type of game. Splitting hairs about whether it technically counts or not is pointless, especially since "visual novel" covers so much ground that it would be a hard "yes" in many cases and a hard "no" in many, many others.
