Ninian and Eliwood are not canon. Stop acting like they're the only option! According to the official novelization, they are a canon pairing! That's just a possible interpretation of the story from the game. Also, that novel does not support the popular pairing of Lyn x Hector! Ninian and Eliwood have the most story and plot relevance and their relationship deepens through the story. It is the most canon pairing even without the novel! Each option in the game is equally valid and equally "canon.* If they wanted an official "one true pairing they should have given us the one option in the game! I didn't know this kind of problem was going on in the earlier games...
