ive been meaning to mention this for a while now, but people outside of america know that we use both right? we learn both in school and depending on the job we have we use both every day.

That's not really a valid comparison. Measurement systems have merits that can be quantified in a far more objective way than with languages which are more of a you win some you lose some experience.
