Given that 90% of these lists get people bitching in the comments, I may as well put one that will make EVERYONE bitch in the comments.

Rules were basically this: Strongest canon version of the character, even if said versions aren't in Smash (Not counting non-legendary Pokémon. I just chose your average Pokémon instead of the strongest of their species). I also didn't include vehicles, only directly useable weapons. This really only affected the Star Fox series. The characters in individual tiers are also placed from a rough order going from weakest (left) to strongest (right).

For the sake of diversity, I also treated each Mario sub-series as its own thing instead of having them scale to Mario characters.
