My "good enough" timeline theory.
Somewhere in the future, our descendants messed with time and it got all fucked up.
They tried to unfuck it, but every positive change came with a bundle of negative ones.
In the end they got tired of trying to make a perfect timeline, and settled on the one that has no major drawbacks, and is considered "good enough"
Some sacrifices obviously had to be made. Like existence of the subj, for example.

So is that a confession that you prefer what we actually got?
