I know this is probably just a joke but I've met so many people who actually believe that fossil fuels are derived from dinosaurs that I need to say this.

Fossil fuels are almost entirely derived from plants, algae and plankton. NOT ANIMAL BONES!

Majority of fossil fuels coming from either marine organisms (mostly plankton, phyto and zoo) that died in oxygen depleted water, or from woody plants during the Carboniferous era since this was a time in earth's history when large terrestrial plants really began to dominate but it was so early in earth's history that detrivores capable of effectively digesting wood/bark had yet to evolve (or at least yet to be ecologically significant).
