Wal-mart, huh? Let me tell you one thing about Wal-Mart. You probably already know about their exploitative practices, but did you know that they also barely pay any taxes? It goes like this: The government offers sizable tax breaks for donations to charity, so Wal-Mart donates… to charities owned by the same people. Also, the government only requires charities to spend a rather small amount directly in verifiable charity work. So you can guess what Wal-Mart does. Wal-Mart actually costs the government money by way of many of it's employees actually making so little that they are on welfare. Honestly, when people say "higher taxes are not the solution", I think they are right. So long as you make sure that they actually pay the amount they are supposed to without fuckery like this, you could probably lower taxes for corporations and actually get more money.
