Whatever Popo and Nana are was always left ambiguous. They could be siblings, they could be a couple; as long as it's not those two things simultaneously, it's up to anyone's interpretation.

I love seeing this type of interactions between them, it does makes them look like siblings (and to be frank I never thought they were a couple even for a second).
