Okay, i'll tell you why. The magazine this little comic strip was published was called Lúdas Matyi, named after a hungarian tale about the titular boy and his goose, and at the desk
is Matyi and at the typewriter is his gooose who supposed to be the secretary.
"Matyi" is first name, basically Matthias
"Lúd" is hungarian for goose, the two together basically gives something to th effect of Matthias who has a goose.
So that's that, not much hidden meaning.
