I'm going to play devils advocate eh.
Science is not at odds with religion here and i think it's very odd to portray them as such. They offer different services and have different purposes. Praying may not solve the issue of the virus, it's not it's not the point of it part of it is for them to have some sort of hope in a bleak world where we in fact do have very little agency. Religiosity has not prevented ancient civilizations from taking steps to prevent the spread of disease, quarantining being prime examples of that.

He is right about antibiotics, we are developing superbugs. incidentally there were cases of it last year, a fucking monster of a fungal strain showed up in America, and was so persistent the entire room was infected and had to be burned.

Atheists and anti-theists are not immune to bad reasoning or religious thinking, i cite atheism+.

Finally science while it has improved our lives that shouldn't be confused with good. it's an engine of trial and error, it will grind on and some of those things we created that while good in the short term can come back to bite us. Lead in the pipes is a popular example in rome, but take global warming, superbugs, nuclear arms, mass transit systems that allow the spread of diseases quickly, so on so forth.

I really hate this Science v religion shit, it's fucking cringe. that goes for both sides, there is no reason that the two sides different worldviews cannot coexist
