The script coordinator for Kamp Koral, Danny Giovannini, said in February 2020 that he didn't know if Hillenburg was aware of Kamp Koral. In May 2020, Giovannini flip-flopped and pretended to know that Hillenburg was aware; he later deleted this comment and explained that it was an attempt at deflecting criticism.
