Transgender Headcanons - Saw this on Twitter & I had to share it.

Chihiro and Naoto: Are shamed for doing things that don't conform to gender stereotypes so they pose as the opposite sex

Twitter/Tumblr: "OMG THEY TRANS!!!"

Chihiro and Naoto: "Are we a joke to you?"

Its like what happened with Mao Mao. People assign LGBT lables to things that aren't LGBT, and further the ideas of Toxic Masculinity.

Two guys can be intimate friends and not be in a relationship. Two guys can hug and be vulnerable with each other and not be in a relationship. Women and Men can pursue traditionally feminine or masculine things and not WANT to be the other gender.

This all stems back to the ideals of toxic masculinity, and its so disheartening to see people furthering it by making their headcanons canon, and harrassing those that try and say otherwise. It just defeats the messages these characters try to bring about acceptance for who you are, not changing to fit societies ideals of what your gender should be.
