Context: Pic related on Twitter (and literally no one else) called the word 'disfigured' being used to describe a character's burned face offensive and ended the tweet with a staple "do better" that you often see from these people, while using the game's hashtag. Only the hashtag, mind you, and did not actually tag the actual AC account. And yet, that was enough for the official AC account to reply, apologize about "ableism" and mention how they will remove the word in an update. Both the complainer and AC's account got heavily ratio'd and the former privated his account, not before a last passive-agressive remark about ruining Demon's Souls as well and that "this is the future of the gaming industry".
So yes, basically the reason why this comic exists and is accurate down to a T despite the lukewark reception it had when postd here at first:
Disfigure: to impair (as in beauty) by deep and persistent injuries. to spoil or damage the appearance of (something or someone).
God forbid someone calls a duck a duck. Or use accurate descriptions when relaying information in a medium that fits the setting. Better scour all of literature that would dare say that a blemish might otherwise sour the view muh'lady's personage. I'm sure the vikings of ye olden days would've wanted this change as well.
Kind of surprised they were so quick to change something so minor that a nobody pointed out. Maybe Ubisoft is walking on eggshells after they upset people with Odyssey's romance.
