There's gross incompetence all around, but the picture design is simple genius: Instead of having the people directly portrayed, they are instead each sitting in their own dining table, and the " <- → " signs are more discrete and captioned with recommended distance, requiring olympic-level mental gymnastics to twist this.

Ethnicity of the characters are a male asian and a female dark-skinned girl. Seems to be the standard (male asian + dark-skinned female) when they want to portray diversity with with the least amount of characters. Typically it requires at least five people in the picture for a white male to be allowed, you can have a white woman starting at four.
