So incredibly bland that I only came up with two points. Presented as either "shy and nerdy" or "rebellious and goth" The writers don't know how to do either of those archetypes realistically, so she's neither. - Said to be ugly, yet she's equally (if not more) attractive than the Popular Girl. The crush is so obvious that literally everyone but the protagonist knows she likes him. Decades after the show's finished airing, she will be on the thumbnail of one of those "you won't believe what this [Show Name] star looks like now" clickbaits. - Initial personality can be summed up as "sporty, stupid, and selfish". - Bullies the protagonist and his best friend at the beginning of the show, then has a really well written 'redemption' arc, everyone is friends, but in the second season he's an a------ again, but they reconcile soon, and remain friends for the rest of the show. - - Dates the popular girl. Relationship feels like it's one-sided (though the evolution of their relationship is similar to the friendship with the protagonist). - Parents are either borderline abusive, or they are "emotionally distant". - DRAMATIE The Popular Girl The Quirky Best Friend Unrealistically bitchy. If someone was to be like that IRL, they'd get shut down immediately. - Bitchiness turns into sass after everyone is friends. - Breaks up with the Jock for an episode, regrets it. Rather than saying she made a mistake, she tries making the Jock jealous by dating the Quirky Best Friend. She regrets that too, as the Quirky Best Friend is uncharacteristically douchey because of something he's doing in the B-Plot (a dare, making a bet with the Jock, etc.). Gets back with the Jock by the end. - Eventually breaks up with the Jock for realsies. They remain friends, though. Fans still riot. - Actress is one of the nicest people you have ever heard of. - High chances he is the only person of color in the main cast. - There's an episode where everyone finds out he's a prodigy at something (sports, painting, music, etc.). He then becomes the school's top student for that something. He quits for whatever reason, and his talent is never again brought up. - Most of the B-Plots evolve around him.
