I kinda get what he's trying to say; large important news publications often don't let people read them for free because they're dependent on paid subscriptions or actually buying available physical print copies. But I think it's worth pointing out that there's still plenty of readlily available reputable sources that one can go to for free and any alleged pipeline towards conspiratorial thinking isn't due to the lack any available options for regular people. If someone were to dive into any sort of "pipeline media", it's just not out of having being priced out of better, more truthly reliable options.

Blame is not something that's only ever 100% or 0%.

If you leave your laptop in an unlocked car and it gets stolen, the thief is to blame, but you are ALSO to blame.

If someone switches sides to an extremist group because they were relentlessly bullied, they are responsible for that choice. But everyone who bullied them are also responsible for their own choices.

Sometimes blame doesn't even matter. Sometimes it's just a description of cause and effect. If [A] happens, there will be increasing amounts of [B]. So if we want to avoid [B], maybe let's also avoid [A]. Maybe don't leave valuables in your car so thieves never even get the idea.
