At the risk of incurring moderator wrath again, I will say that it's actually a case of a small minority imposing their idealist view of biology that is rooted in subjectivity on a majority whose view of biology largely materialist and based on form and function. Said minority and its allies will bully dissenters into silence with charges of hate speech and bigotry (as Jill and Freakenstein did to me.) That doesn't seem democratic.
