You realize people "herald" her because of lefties screeching about her, right? The series would most likely have stayed relatively low key if it hadn't been for twitter making such a big stink about it. Just like when they complained about Shield Hero and Goblin Slayer when their animes were announced and gave them more publicity.

And not every anime/manga needs to be such grand works of writing and art. It's like saying every western cartoon has to be the next Avatar instead of a simple episodic comedy. People like simpler stories too, finding what they like about a particular entry in a genre.

Far as sexualization goes, you realize that she's even not that sexualized in the series, right? Especially compared to a lot of other series similar to it. Sure, she has big tits, but that doesn't immediately equate to sex-appeal. Hell, Nagatoro has a lot more sexualization in it and its main girl is flat as a board.

And just because there is sexualization, doesn't mean there aren't other things the series offers. It's people like you and SJWs that state that just because there's sex appeal that means the writing/characterization automatically suffer. Elf-san is a manga series with lots of sex-appeal, about fat fantasy girls that try and lose weight. And it actually goes into detail on various minor workouts and other health habits. Plenty of other series that are similar, that use their setting and story as a backdrop to explain various activities like cooking or sewing.
