From what I can gather, the Egyptians started out as an all Middle Eastern (or primarily Middle Eastern) ethnic group of Semitic and Arabic peoples, before incorporating African ethnicities into their group after conquering (and being conquered in turn) by the Nubians, Were overtaken and culturally syncretized by the Greeks/Romans, before finally becoming mostly Arabic after Muslim conquests.

The only people who really give a shit about the "original" Egyptian racial identity are supremacists and insecure losers.
