This game, The Curse of Monkey Island means a lot, not for me but for the series in general and to the Point and Click adventure genre as a whole.
This was the last major game to use the legendary "Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion" or S.C.U.M.M for short, plenty of jokes were made in reference to that engine, hell the bar that Guybrush visits at the beginning of the first game it's named after it (literally it's called the SCUMM Bar) .
After this game and Full Throttle Lucasarts switched to the Grim Fandango engine, and eventually they stopped making Point and Click adventure games altogether so they could focus on, you guessed it, more Star Wars, and you don't need me to tell you how that turned out……[COUGH] the sequels [COUGH]
