Basically,
1. They found out the government covered up throwing 10,000+ dead kids in mass graves. This is considered a bit of a downer.
2. It wasn't ancient. Those places were in operation until the 1970s.

We had a bunch of Indigenous unmarked graves besides residential schools discovered, so we don't celebrate as much.
