my best friend and I took a trip to Sanotrini, Greece. It was hands down one of the best places I have ever been to. I highly recommend it. One night, my Last year, However, I DO NOT recommend girlfriend and I thought we would go check out since everyone was raving about it. Its a small restaurant with only the bar and a couple of small round table. So most people just take away. We sat at the bar and ordered two Souvlakis. I believe I either asked if it was chicken or made sure there was no pork. But I made it clear I did not want pork.The owner comes up to us and asks us about how the meal is and what not. We respond saying "it was great!". However it was clear that he was heavily intoxicated. Now before I get to the best part, I want to acknowledge that I am a Muslim and I don't eat pork. However, that is not anyone's concern other then mine and the person making my food. The owner then goes on to ask us about our background and we get the topic of religion. My best friend is not comfortable talking about it and immediately becomes quite. I don't mind entertaining it and proceed to listen. He then gets to a story about Muslims. He says "an Arab guy came in once and asked for a souvlaki without pork but ordered a beer. I made him one and asked him how it tasted? He said 'it was great". Then I told him that well it has pork in it". He didn't tell us what the customers reaction was but said "If you are going to drink beer you can have pork". I found this absolutely appalling and told him that it was the man's decision and he can do whatever he wants. He did not listen. He kept telling us that "these Muslims think they can play it as they want".and BLAH BLAH BLAH. I asked him if mine had pork and with a huge grin he said yes. I got up, he was talking nonsense, paid my bill, tipped the waiter and left. This man disgusting and inappropriate. He should lose his business! I wish there was a negative star here, because that's what I would have given him.
