Context:

Like most countries in South East Asia, dog is a very common meat that people eat down there, especially in Vietnam where it's considered a staple part of the diet. Because of that, you should always ask what it is you are about to eat if you want to avoid dining on delicious doggo delicacies.

This also applies to Switzerland for reasons I don't quite understand.

Most of you already know about the Cambodian Genocide, so I'll just gloss over it, but if you want me to go over that I can.

So, to say that Cambodian had a rough end to the last century would be a bit of an understatement.

First the Americans bombed them in the Vietnam War.

Then the Vietnamese bombed them in the Third Indo-China War

And then they bombed themselves in the decades of civil war they had after the fall of the Khmer Rouge.

Because of that, there are vast areas littered with landmines and unexploded bombs; so you are at a very real threat of just spontaneously exploding if you wander of the beaten track, especially in the rural border areas.
