About

Olivia Rodrigo's Space Question refers to a question that singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo asks on a first date to determine if a man is worth pursuing. Rodrigo asks men if they want to go to space. If they say yes, then it's a red flag for Rodrigo who says it shows how the man is too full of himself. Rodrigo revealed her Space Question in an interview with Netflix in November 2024. The clip went viral and inspired discourse on social media platforms like Twitter / X and TikTok. Many thought that the question was weird but people debated it nonetheless.

Origin

She says that she asks an "oddly specific question" on first dates, saying, "I always ask them if they think that they would want to go to space. And if they say yes, I don’t date them." She elaborates by saying, "I just think if you wanna go to space, you’re a little too full of yourself. I think it’s just weird." Over two days, the video received over 42,500 likes.

The video was also posted to Netflix's TikTok[7] account on November 2nd, receiving over 84,300 likes in two days (shown below).

Men who want to go to space aren't full of themselves, because they know they'll never go but still want to, I mean who wouldn't want to go to space? It's dangerous but who wouldn't want to experience that? Men like the billionaires that are doing this for vanity just to be like "Haw haw, my company was the first to make space tourism a thing!" are valid for her to dislike. But the average man who just looks up at the stars and dreams about mankind one day being able to travel the universe? I just gotta say, the real red flag is being so judgemental about that.
