What's Up With Webcomic Artist FallenChungus Getting 'Scammed' Out Of His Account? The 'Liquid Chungus' Takeover Explained
Well-known and somewhat controversial webcomic artist @FallenChungus seems to be having a case of seller's regret, saying that he has been scammed and that a new user has taken over his popular Twitter / X account.
Funnily enough, his following doesn't seem to care about the new administration, with the new user quietly slipping into the role of posting the webcomic artist's usual irreverent fare.
FallenChungus has gained notoriety over the past year for inspiring several viral memes with his comics, including Bro Visited His Friend and Literal Coolest Thing Ever. But he's also been the subject of several controversies, many of which stemmed from his apparent inability to handle the hate he received from his niche internet fame.
Despite the original FallenChungus artist urging his followers to mass report the new administrator, it seems as though much of his passive following is unfazed by his webcomic account being managed by a new user. The new admin even earned new nicknames, with some calling him "Liquid Chungus," a callback to a Chris Chan impersonator, while others called him Kenjaku Chungus, a Jujutsu Kaisen reference.
So what's going on with this bizarre situation and how did this whole debacle go down? Here's how the story unfolded.
Who Is FallenChungus, And Did He Really Sell His Account?
FallenChungus is a webcomic artist who gained virality over the last year or so for inspiring a number of meme formats and trends with his comics in 2023 and 2024, including Look Man He Helped Me Through a Very Tough Time and Bro Visited His Friend.
In 2024, however, it became apparent that the young artist was having a hard time coping with the hate that often goes hand-in-hand with internet fame.
After deactivating and reactivating his X account several times, in late October 2024, @FallenChungus appears to have sold his account to a new user.
The FallenChungus account falling under new administration was seemingly confirmed by the account's new admin posting a meme about being the new "goat" of X on November 1st.
Did FallenChungus Get Scammed Out Of His X / Twitter Account?
In posts made on his alternate and now-deleted Twitter account, FallenChungus appeared to recount how he lost ownership of his account. He says that he willingly sold his account to a buyer, but then changed his mind.
FallenChungus noted that he gave back the money he received for the account to the buyer in a bid to get them to deactivate his account, but instead, he got locked out of it permanently.
In a last-ditch effort, FallenChungus is now urging people to mass report his old Twitter account. He's gone so far as to ask the users over on Kiwi Farms for help, although his request was rather ill-received on the contentious site.
Why Are People Calling The New FallenChungus Admin 'Liquid Chungus'?
As it happens, the new FallenChungus admin seems to have received little to no backlash for his antics. In fact, many Twitter users are bemused by how easily he slipped into FallenChungus's role.
After the new user posed a Cabbit meme on November 3rd, X user @ChiefofIsaac wrote, "dude genuinely how mad do you think the original owner is just seeing his whole Internet personality he built for like years just to be easily replaced in every shape or form ðŸ˜."
Over on Kiwi Farms and back on Twitter, people had begun referring to the new admin with a set of apt nicknames, including "Liquid Chungus," a reference to the Chris Chan impersonator Liquid Chris. The "Liquid" in both these names is a reference to Metal Gear Solid character Liquid Snake.
Another prevalent nickname was "Kenjaku Chungus," a reference to a powerful Jujutsu Kaisen character who has the power to take over another person's body.
