LOS ANGELES, CA November 19, 2021 – As the verdict in the Kyle Rittenhouse case is read and the young man is released to attempt to rebuild his life, many speculate as to the disbursement of the $2M in bail funds raised by his original attorney, John Pierce. Pierce, the California litigator currently defending more than twenty of the January 6th Capitol Hill Protestors, disclaimed any entitlement to the $2M bail money he was instrumental in raising in the Kyle Rittenhouse case. "I am so proud of Kyle and thankful that justice was served. The ability to defend ourselves is one of the most basic rights and today that that right was affirmed and upheld. I am also incredibly proud of the work that I did in the initial months of the case, building a defense team and helping to raise millions of dollars to gain Kyle his freedom." Several weeks ago, as accusations and speculation began to swirl about the disbursement of the bail money, Pierce quietly filed an interpleader action in Texas federal district court, rejecting any entitlement to it. "Unfortunately, manufactured controversy, such as the social media speculation about the bail money is nothing more than a distraction designed to discredit me, as I prepare to defend many more people who are being abused for political gain."
