[a (adult swim] Inherently, memes are designed to be something repeated in slightly different forms, maybe with variations in content or structure but largely the same. You've got various formats, be they structural ones like 'white bar' or reaction memes or content ones like 'haha two rocks' Currently this subs banned meme list stands at 23 banned formats, plus white bar/reaction memes, two of the most common formats used anywhere else. My question is, why do we make it so hard to post these? Some damn good idea could be in someone's head but they might have to twist it beyond recognition to fit another format, losing its humour in the process. But that's what upvotes are for, the good posts will still rise to the top per usual since they're the ones people enjoy. It's for quality control, otherwise what's stopping this sub becoming just a more niche r/memes? Good posts would get lost in between waves of terrible ones. If we relax the format rules, we all get more memes, the community can decide what it likes, and less salty posts like this one.
