Upset Because of a Certain Someone, They Know Who They Are, continued, Stop Posting Mysterious Status Updates When We Have No Idea Who You're Talking About, refers to a scene in the Cartoon Network show The Amazing World of Gumball in which Gumball and Darwin are reading a "mysterious" social media status update from a classmate and responding to it. The scene's audio was widely used on TikTok in May 2025, mostly to joke about Instagram Notes and other status update features.
Origin
On September 10th, 2013, season 2, episode 67 of The Amazing World of Gumball titled "The Voice" aired on Cartoon Network. The episode was about Gumball and Darwin anonymously trolling their classmates on the social media site Elmore Plus.[1]
In one scene, they read a comment from Leslie who wrote, "Upset because of a certain someone, they know who they are." Gumball angrily responds, "Stop posting mysterious status updates when we have no idea who you're talking about."
On April 3rd, 2025, TikToker[2] @ladygawa_ posted the scene with the caption, "THOSE people posting on Instagram Notes," receiving over 2.9 million likes in a month (shown below).

In the following weeks, many creators used the abovementioned video's TikTok sound.[3] For instance, on April 10th, 2025, TikToker[3] @el.edgarcito posted a skit following the "Instagram Notes" prompt from the original video, gaining over 775,200 likes in a month (shown below).

On May 15th, TikToker[4] @izzy.._iv posted a screen-recording from Discord, showing them responding to a long message repeating "LEBRON" with, "Stop posting mysterious status updates when we have no idea who you're talking about." Over 10 days, the video gained roughly 108,100 likes (shown below).

Others posted similar screen-recorded skits that followed the original dialogue in May 2025. For instance, on May 19th, TikToker[5] @silly.aaliyahh posted a recording of themself texting the official Duolingo TikTok account, "Stop posting mysterious status updates when we have no idea who you're talking about." Over six days, the video gained over 682,100 likes (shown below).

The trend then spread to YouTube, evident in a video shared by YouTuber[6] rainidi on May 13th, 2025, which received over 12,000 views in 12 days (shown below).
