That results in a lot of death, and they need to keep the meat grinder back. So they need 30K men a month to just keep up with the losses, and it takes months for the wounded to recover to fight again (if they're not just send back to the front to die). The reported average casualty ratio is 3:1, which is pretty bad. Russians face horrific losses when they're on the offensive, but Ukraine also faces losses when they attack as well so it evens out to 3:1. Generous estimates put them in the several dozens, T-90M production and development was largely halted for the sake of the Armata project, though picked up again as the T-14 was kicked down the road. Still, the T-90M is an actually good tank, I'd actually put it on par with proper Leo variants, but not even quality equipment can save poor strategy.
