It annoys me when girls in manga who are supposed to be chubby or gaining weight still look thin. Chubby girls who aren't just joke characters are pretty rare in Japanese media (which is likely related to how thin Japanese people are in general.)

I mean to be fair, Japan's standards of what is "fat" is much different than in America.

You know those scenes in anime where a girl pinches her stomach and she's like "OMG I need to lose some weight!" Even a bit of belly fat in Japan is considered "too fat", whereas in America it's considered a normal, healthy size. And god-forbid you have a round stomach in Japan as a non-pregnant woman, that's basically a death sentence to your social life.
