Okay. They're talking about Anniston Alabama, where Monsanto had a plant producing PCBs from 1929 to 1971. They did try to dodge responsibility, to be fair, but:

1. Adjusting for inflation, Monsanto did pay more (that $700 million is ~$1.13 billion today ), and that was 3 decades after PCB production stopped.

2. Up to that point, as was so common in the chemical industry back then, no one was sure (or cared) if PCBs would cause long-term health issues until the 60s. It wasn't 'til the late 70s that PCBs were banned.

3. Monsanto actually did try to limit & reduce contamination, and succeeded somewhat – it's just that their efforts to stop it completely didn't work.

4. Meanwhile, Alex Jones deliberately, knowingly traumatised the parents of murdered children expressly in order to profit off of lies about their suffering, and is directly responsible for his lies causing his followers to harass them.

I'd argue that deserves a much harsher punishment. And frankly, he's lucky he's even a free man, & not done in for contempt of court, considering how he's acted through the trial.
