It is actually because this game is Japanese, has a leveling system,, quests, is open world and has a fishing minigame, thus making it JRPG enough for Dunkey to hate.

Honestly, yeah. More people need to realize this. Heck, I'd argue it's probably why the "Meta Era" of Sonic even happened in the first place. Not every video game needs to be made with Dunkey, Egorapter, ScottTheWoz, Arlo, or Projared in mind.
