In a 1990 interview, Shigeru Miyamoto revealed that a sketch of Mario riding a dinosaur he drew for Super Mario Bros. in 1985 was hanging above his desk for five years until he finally was able to implement Yoshi in Super Mario World.

The Mario game that can be beaten the fastest is Mario 3, which can be beaten in 19 frames, or 0.316 seconds, by pressing buttons very quickly during startup to execute unintended code. Below is every frame from starting up the game to finishing it.

Makes me wonder if Nintendo will ever experiment with giving them children and even get to play them.

Of course, Mario is quite the landmark in the industry and I doubt the Big N will ever make any drastic changes to the dynamics
