Deregulation is good, if a private company wants to throw ten billion gallons of toxic waste into a river, they should be able to.
And if you don't like that, you're free to:
- not buy what the company is selling (it makes you a pretentious person)
- call out people who buy from them (it will make you a bad person)
- use your own money to clean everything up (i will publicly mock you).
And the irreversible damage to the environment will regulate itself, especially if you stop talking about it.
Considering the track history of corporations,"deregulation" and "freedom to dump toxic waste in rivers" is a distinction without difference in general.
