I am pretty sure yordles do actually use only metal dishes, for 2 reasons.
1. Yordles like to party, and throw their dishes around.
2. They are actually 4th dimensional beings and if their dishes aren't made of metal they will be destroyed by the passage of time as yordles just walk around.

She blows herself up on the regular, I wouldn't say she is fragile.
