The thing with BDSP is that the way it tried with its artstyle is so lazy and soulless.

And Pokémon fans DON'T want faithful remakes. They want the region to be expanded upon, reimagined and acknowledging the Pokémon that came out after the original games just as most previous remakes did. BDSP didn't include Pokémon from Unova to Galar and the amount of new things in it are

Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire and much of the good things about HeartGold/SoulSilver are what fans expect out of Pokémon remakes. BDSP only retained a mere slither of tropes that some remakes had, like Gym Leader rematches.
