When you're whole world view revolves around panicking over every potential misdeed or misspeak, guilt over things you may not have even done and can't fix, constantly shifting standards you MUST keep up with or be socially destroyed, and absolutely NO forgiveness when you do eventually screw up, then yeah, you're gonna turn into a ball of anxiety and depression.

I mean, literally ignorance is bliss.
