Lightyear's premise was rotten to the core. I cannot suspend my disbelief that Andy would watch that film and then get excited about a Buzz Lightyear toy. The near blink-and-miss-it same-sex kiss got a lot of publicity, but most people I've heard just had no interest in the film in general. I would have much rather have had another "Buzz Lightyear of Star Command" animated film that was still in the spirit of the series but good enough to stand up on its own without retreading the same ground. Lightyear was just dry and dull.
