Supper Mario Broth @MarioBrothBlog Ø All colors of bananas from Donkey Kong 64 can be found in real life. Note that real-life blue and purple bananas only have a subtle coloration and are either unripe or inedible; beware of false images of cartoonishly saturated bananas spread online. Donkey Kong's yellow bananas resemble the most common banana cultivar, the Cavendish banana. Diddy Kong's red bananas resemble the Red Dacca banana cultivar, which contains high levels of beta-carotene, giving it a red hue. Chunky Kong's green bananas resemble either unripe yellow bananas or cooking bananas, also known as plantains. These are very rarely eaten raw. Lanky Kong's blue bananas resemble the Blue Java banana cultivar, which has a temporary blue coating when it is not yet ripe. Tiny Kong's purple bananas resemble the Musa ornata species of banana which has pinkish/purplish fruits, especially when not ripe, but is inedible Note that the Internet is full of fabricated/doctored images of blue and purple bananas where the color is greatly exaggerated for dramatic effect. The real Blue Java and Musa ornata bananas have a subtle blue and purple coloration, not cartoonishly saturated hues. Supper Mario Broth @MarioBrothBlog Ø It is possible to beat Donkey Kong Country 2 completely pacifist using a combination of secrets and glitches, allowing no enemy or boss to be harmed. Ironically, getting the true ending destroys Crocodile Isle, killing everyone on it anyway. How to beat Donkey Kong Country 2 the pacifist way 20 XXX 5 Most enemies in the game can be spared via damage boosting through them or skipped via team-up throws or Dixie's twirl. However, some bonus rooms require all enemies inside to be defeated. These can be avoided by using the secret that gives 75 Kremkoins", allowing all bonus rooms to be skipped. "In the first level, enter the cabin, exit immediately. Collect the first banana bunch but not anything else. Return to the cabin, collect the balloon. Exit, collect the bunch again, but nothing else. Return, and it will contain a coin that gives you 75 Kremkoins. Pause and exit on the same frame the bonus is lost Funky Skip touched by the rat still a Kremling head icon, showing boss was not defeated yet still allows the player to proceed to the next world To skip bosses, get a glitch called "Bonus Storage" by pausing and exiting while failing a bonus. After this, use "Funky Skip" (get near the boss, hold L+Select, then tap Right, Left, Up, Down, Right, Left. Hold Up, press B, let go of Up and B, and press Down) which will put you on the world map. Reenter the world, then visit any NPC, and if done correctly, you will be put on the world map again but with the next world unlocked without fighting the boss. Die, then Funky Skip 90 ng k-kid 1 video her ould h-have ed it all After beating all the Lost World levels (requires only getting to the beginning of K. Rool's Keep and the 75 Kremkoins) the final battle is unlocked. In this battle, the player needs to enter it, then die, and finally do another Funky Skip to enter the True Ending credits instantly, without harming K. Rool. In an exquisite case of irony, the True Ending cutscene shows Crocodile Isle being blown up and sinking into the sea, presumably killing everyone on it (save for K. Rool, who escapes on a boat). It seems all the pacifism was for nothing in the end. Source: YouTube user @kfin45, youtube.com/playlist?list=PLEMOV78AqBIFpzVdz8N6SU7UEllnn1FBR
Supper Mario Broth @MarioBrothBlog 0 Donkey Kong 64 contains unused text that would have referenced the Gold Skulltula sidequest from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time as a joke explanation for Donkey Kong not being able to do something. (mockup screenshot using text extracted from files) HEY, DONKEY, YOU'LL NEED 100 SKULLTILLEYS IF YOU WANT TO RACE ME! We look like this because of the spider's curse. But... You got a Gold Skulltula Token! Donkey Kong 64 contains an unused line of text for the seal in Gloomy Galleon where he tells Donkey Kong that he needs "100 Skulltilleys" to race him. This was intended to be used in the game's demo as a joke explanation for why the race cannot be accessed. Since you've destroyed 100 Spiders of the Curse, the curse on me has been broken. This is of course a reference to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, where Gold Skulltulas can be found all over Hyrule. Defeating them produces tokens, 100 of which are needed to lift the curse on a family in Kakariko Village which turned them into spiders. M.PRYCE STEVENSON The spelling "Skulltilleys" instead of C.TILLEY "Skulltulas" appears to be an inside reference to the name of Rareware artist Carl Tilley, who worked on this game.
