It sounds as if the guitars were recorded first THEN the rhythm, which is pretty much the opposite of how nearly every other recording artist records pop/rock songs today. So the ear is led in a different way, and I like that. Also, the guitar solo. And the tuning. And the LACK of autotune. All of these elements come together so well that and everyone thinks the wonderfulness of the song is a joke Too bad. But I don't. I think the wonderfulness of the song is its catchiness. It's hook. It immediately made me thing of Harvey Danger's Flagpole Sitter. I don't know why because the lyrics are kind of the opposite but botlh are songs that just stick in your head Lastly, in 1983, when I was 18-l'm 45 this month- there was a REALLY GREAT RECORD that came out called murmur by a new band from Athens, GA.
