Doubt that they're completely dropping the fee.

After all EA dropped their system and a few days later we get the Xbone with its Used games fee requirement. Plus the amount of EA Sports content shown and even the angry tweets from EA's head engineer, adds up to some EA policies influence the development of the Xbone with a strong partnership between MS and EA.
