It's totally true as well. I hate the random races given to the main six, not because I dislike those races, but because they are often based off racist ideas or done for the sole purpose of having a token minority. There are canon races in the show, with Zebra's and Saddle Arabians looking significantly different from normal ponies. (I know arabia != the middle east, but it is a race from around those parts, so I'd imagine a Muslim pony to look like them, at least slightly more than the average pony.)
