Not trying to start an argument here, but just wanted to point something out.
The reason that the American Constitution includes clauses about "god-given, unalienable rights", are so that these things are defined explicitly in such a way as to be something that cannot be taken away. By saying that certain rights are god-given, to all of humanity at birth, it means that those are things which other people cannot take away. It's supposed to be protection against future dictators and men with aspirations of total power, by saying that to take these rights away is inherently morally wrong and not allowed within the bounds of our government.
So yeah, just saying. For all those athiests calling for the removal of all references to a higher power from the Constitution, perhaps they should study why those sections exist.
Not that our current government gives a shit about morals anyways, of course. The founding fathers tried, but they couldn't see future. Oh well.
