Does the joke work when they have a mage jumping into the fray?

I mean, bikini armors aside, plain robes are also a pretty useless armor. "Realistically" it's not only a useless and unnecessary part of magic-user fashion, but it also signals you out as the guy the arrows and blind chargers should aim for.
