Theory here: What if Hasbro is trying to isolate the two main crowds (small children and the Brony fandom) by turning Equestria Girls into such an abomination for us but all the typical things little girls love so that all our focus gets put back on MLP, where the show swings more our way? That way, Hasbro has a neat little division between two very polar demographics that they can use to their advantage? (good or bad, not yet known)
