Maneiac is an earth pony, but she beat Twilight and Rainbow Dash, who have a whole bunch of superpowers. Pinkie Pie is also an earth pony but she's actually an unstoppable omnipotent goddess like Discord I don't see how earth ponies are exactly inferior, especially when Pinkie Pie is an omnipotent 4th wall breaker that can outwit even the smartest unicorn like she did in FPK.
