How about copy nothing and stick to original ideas? That's why I joined the fandom in the first place, I didn't come here for a cliche comic book hero story or a girl trying to fit in high school goddammit.

Well, a lot/some of the episodes do have rather cliche plots to them.

But that's the thing. They can still do those plots, but still make a good episode with the characters and setting. Of course, there are times when those cliches come back to bite them, and ruin the episode.

EqG was just too many cliches and not enough charm to balance it out. It wasn't "see the Mane-six in a whole new way" it was "Watch Twilight bumble around the same tired bullshit you'll see in any high-school drama."
